Unmei no akai ito (運命の赤い糸) is a Japanese belief in that an invisible red string connects two people destined to meet either as soulmates, or significant connection. The thread is told to stretch and tangle, but never break, guiding the pair to their fated encounter regardless of time, place or circumstance.
